When planning a rehearsal dinner at The Historic Pace House, a couple chose an elegant seated buffet combining Italian and French cuisine with an elaborate dessert tower. The combination of refined service, diverse culinary options, and a spectacular dessert finale created a celebration that felt both sophisticated and genuinely joyful.
Pace House’s historic charm provided the perfect backdrop for this intimate evening. Haley Jane Photography captured genuine moments throughout the celebration, while Avenue Event Design under Don Chestnut’s direction created elegant florals. Brandon Crocker provided live music that elevated the entire atmosphere, and Corks & Caps handled beverage service.
The evening opened with passed hors d’oeuvres: mini smoked salmon sandwiches with caper mayo, chicken empanadas with sour cream and cilantro, and open-faced pimento cheese canapés (half with apple-smoked bacon). These elegant bites set a sophisticated tone.
Each guest received a house salad featuring candied pecans, craisins, red onions, blue cheese crumbles, and champagne vinaigrette, plus artisan bread and butter.
Guests selected from Tuscan lemon chicken piccata, jumbo goat cheese ravioli with asparagus and white wine, seafood Provençal with shrimp and scallops, and beef bourguignon. Saffron rice pilaf, seasonal grilled vegetables, and tri-color roasted potatoes completed the station.
This variety allowed each guest to build a complete meal reflecting their preferences.
The celebration concluded with an extraordinary dessert tower offering five distinct options: mini cheesecake cupcakes with vanilla whipped cream and raspberry coulis, chocolate ganache tart with Belgian chocolate, mini key lime tartlets, raspberry parfaits, and chocolate parfaits.
This multi-option approach honored different preferences and created a memorable final moment to the celebration.
Seated buffet service balances elegance with comfort. Guests remain at their tables creating intimate conversation spaces, while the buffet component gives guests agency in their dining choices.
The Italian and French cuisine combination feels both refined and welcoming. The five dessert options extend celebration naturally, allowing guests to choose what appeals to them while maintaining energy through the end of the evening.
Live music adds an elegant dimension that elevates the entire experience without overwhelming conversation.
