The Historic Academy of Medicine was originally built in 1941 by the internationally renowned architect, Mr. Philip Shutze. “Elegant Upscale Ambiance in the Heart of Midtown” describes this magnificent three floor mansion that was built in 1895 as a private residence and is now one of the last remnants of the Old South. This beautiful structure located on Fourteenth and Peachtree Streets in the middle of Atlanta is on the national, state and city historical landmark lists and has been beautifully cared for by the Atlanta Woman’s Club since 1914. The Wimbish Mansion features include an elegant ballroom with 20-foot-tall ceilings, a formal dining room, a sun porch fronting on Peachtree Street, a parlor, two pianos, hardwood floors, antique crystal chandeliers and a variety of other features.
